Stripey Lake Two is a five panel accordion of loosely woven yarn pages with stitched and collaged elements throughout. The cover is felted and embroidered. The book celebrates one of my favorite camping and hiking spots - a place generally known by a different name. As is true of so much of the Colorado Rockies, the terrain shifts dramatically with very little distance. On days of blue sky and puffy clouds, the view is cheerful and bright, many topographical elements illuminated, others obscured. When in shadow, other elements are more apparent.

A brief text is hand embroidered onto Cave paper strips then pasted into place alongside lightweight and flexible plant specimens gathered at Stripey Lake. The final page of the accordion is fixed in place on the back cover; inside paste downs are paste papers by Madeleine Durham. Housed in a single tray, drop-spine box with recessed labels on front cover and spine.

There is a high mountain lake I visit when I can. I call it Stripey Lake.
There is striped fungi along the trail, striped wasps in the trees,
& vertical shafts of sunlight spilling into groves of pine & aspen.
