Book: davey board, foam core, decorative papers, thread, shells, ink on paper
During a residency at Fort Warden State Park in Washington State, I made works created from materials found on site. There were leftover materials from previous artists-in-residence that, in addition to beach finds, led to the making of several shell books. This one presents in the form of a three panel, rigid page panel. The center panel holds is recessed that holds a shell. A text, written in a spiral, is revealed when the shell is removed.

she steps back . . . another step . . . another. she goes backwards over the edge. no screams. a fossil is found in her pocket. shells spiralling around and round to center stop.
