This modestly scaled 12 panel accordion includes a redwood pinecone specimen embedded into the inner back cover and some of own writing about the mighty redwood originating from a tiny seed. The rigid pages, with circular cut outs offer a glimpse of the cone as a viewer works through the book pages.

This tiny cone,
smaller than an olive,
sheds even tinier seeds
1-2 millimeters long.
From these small seeds,
shed on rich layers of
old growth forest duff,
grow massive, sky scraping trees.
These trees are among the
tallest living things on earth.
Long-lived and breath taking,
their canopies host multitudes.
