Book: purple heartwood, brass, gesso, oil paint, wax, plant specimens, mica, paper, laser toner, fusion foil
Box: book board, book cloth, surface manipulated goat, plant specimens, cast acrylic

Five panels of purple heartwood hinged with brass hinges. Each of the three interior pages have circular window cut outs in which lichen specimens float, visible from both sides of the panel. The specimens are protected with mica sheet. The surfaces of each panel, including the front and back covers, are painted with fanciful forms, based on macro images of lichen. The book is housed in a custom drop-spine, single tray box. The box tray has a layer of lichen specimens, protected with cast acrylic, on which the book rests. Box spine is surface manipulated goat. The recessed spine and cover labels are also manipulated goat, with foil stamped title.
