Materials
Book: mica, paper, thread, brass, plant, insect, reptile, & animal specimens, leather, book cloth, ink, acrylic, laser toner
The five rigid pages of this book are laminations of mica and plant specimens. Most of the specimens were gathered during visits to old growth forests on the west coast of North America. The rigid pages are attached to stubs, then bound in a tight back, full leather binding.
Housed in a drop-spine box of book board covered with custom printed book cloth with a cloth paste down down. Lichen and thorn specimens rest in thh tray, protected with a sheet of cast acrylic. The box labels are fusion foil on paper.

The pages of this book are made with mica, papers and natural specimens
sewn onto stubs. Bound in full leather, laced on boards, handmade paper doublures, endmatter of machine made papers. The book is readable in either
orientation so no front or back is indicated. Housed in bespoke drop-spine
box with plant and lichen specimens protected under cast acrylic sheeting.
This work was designed & crafted in a studio perched on the
traditional lands of the Arapahoe, Cheyenne, Ute & Oglala Sioux.
