Edition of unique artists’ book
Dimensions in inches (closed): 6.12 x 4.5 x 2

Materials
Book: Book: glazed porcelain, silver leaf, hand made paper, thread (cotton & kevlar), mammal bones Box: book board, book cloth, hand made paper, ink, hot foil, mica

This little book encapsulates years of wandering, eyes cast downward, seeking the remains of creatures long gone.

A single sheet of hand-made, folded paper, holds stitched text and a selection of small bones that I collected during my years of mountain living. The abaca paper, which was dried without restraint, was folded into an accordion with panels of varying depth, alternating between wide and narrow panels. The narrow panels are reinforced with strips of blue Cave paper. This allows the wide panels to accommodate the depth of small mammal bones, which are presented on four of the panels. The remaining four panels have hand embroidered text. Covers are carved and glazed porcelain with silver leaf edging and adornment. Housed in a custom, bespoke box.
